Web Page Design (1.0 Credits, 1 Year)
This course is designed to provide students with a basic knowledge of how web pages are created and maintained. Students will learn to use the basic building blocks of web pages with Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). HTML and XHTML are covered in detail. Students will learn how to create sites both manually in Notepad and through the use of Dreamweaver software. Students will also use Photoshop to optimize and prepare images and graphics for a webpage while adhering to copyright laws. The course concludes with a website project and independent study of a web design topic of the students’ choice. Students are assessed through projects and classroom participation.
