Our students in grades 2-8 had an out-of-this-world experience on Friday as they stepped inside a traveling planetarium right here at HCS!

A huge thank you to the Kopernik Observatory & Science Center for bringing this incredible hands-on learning opportunity to our students. From exploring the night sky to discovering the wonders of space, our Wildcats enjoyed an unforgettable journey through the universe while expanding their knowledge of astronomy and science.

UPK & Kindergarten Family Picnic!

On Friday, our UPK and Kindergarten students were excited to welcome their families to school for a special Family Picnic on the playground!

It was a wonderful opportunity for students and their loved ones to spend quality time together, enjoy lunch outdoors, and make lasting memories as the school year comes to a close.

Yesterday, we had the privilege of celebrating our Full-Time BOCES and Career & Technical Education (CTE) BOCES students as they participated in their graduation ceremonies at the Robert W. Harrold Educational Center.

These graduates have worked incredibly hard, developing valuable academic, technical, and career-ready skills that will serve them well in the next chapter of their lives. Their dedication, determination, and commitment to their goals have been inspiring, and we couldn't be prouder of all they have accomplished.

Several of our students rolled into school in style earlier today, arriving behind the wheel of their tractors! It was a fun way to celebrate our community's strong agricultural roots while showcasing the pride our students have in farming and rural life.

Hancock Central School District is proud to partner with the USDA to offer FREE summer meals for all children 18 years of age and younger, as well as children with special needs up to age 21.

MUSIC AND GRATITUDE AT MORNING PROGRAM

This morning, our elementary students filled the air with music during their Morning Program, putting on a wonderful performance for the community members who joined us. Their beautiful voices and enthusiasm made for a truly memorable event!

The program also included a heartfelt surprise for their chorus teacher, Mrs. Noyd, who will be retiring from Hancock Central School at the end of this school year. The students shared a special message of appreciation, thanking her for the kindness, encouragement, and love of music she has instilled in so many students throughout the years.

Mrs. Noyd, thank you for your unwavering dedication, passion, and the countless memories you've created with generations of Wildcats. Your impact on our school community will be felt for years to come.

HANDS-ON MATH FUN IN 3RD GRADE!

Mrs. Cooper's 3rd grade students explored customary measurement conversions in math today by creating their very own "Gallon Bots!"

This fun, hands-on activity helped students visualize the relationships between gallons, quarts, pints, and cups, making measurement conversions easier to understand and remember. Learning is always more exciting when students can create while they discover!

CLASS OF 2026 SENIOR WALK

Earlier today, our Class of 2026 took one of the most memorable walks of their high school journey, their Senior Walk through the elementary school!

As they made their way through the halls, our youngest Wildcats cheered them on, celebrating the accomplishments and bright futures of our graduating seniors. Afterward, the Class of 2026 gathered together for their official class photo, capturing a special moment they will always remember.

To our seniors: thank you for the memories, leadership, and school spirit you've shared throughout your years at Hancock Central School. Graduation is just around the corner, and while your time as Wildcats is coming to an end, an exciting new chapter is just beginning.

MIDDLE SCHOOL FIELD DAYS

Our middle school students had a fantastic time during Field Days! The day was filled with fun activities including relays, gaga ball, kickball, Kan Jam, sidewalk chalk, and water activities that helped everyone stay cool and enjoy the beautiful weather.

Students also enjoyed a visit to the ice cream stand! A special thank you to Mrs. D’Elia and Mrs. Newman for serving ice cream and helping students beat the heat on a hot, sunny day.

We would also like to thank all of our teachers and staff members for their hard work and dedication in supporting our students and making Field Days such a success. Your efforts helped create a fun, memorable experience for everyone involved.

Our UPK and Kindergarten students had a wonderful time during Fun Friday as they created delicious summer pool party-themed treats!

The boys and girls put their creativity to work while designing and assembling their tasty creations, making for a fun-filled and memorable activity. Activities like these help students build creativity, practice following directions, and have fun together!

NYS REGENTS SCHEDULE

Attention students and families: New York State Regents Exams will begin on Monday, June 9, and Tuesday, June 10.

Please review the exam schedule below carefully and make note of the dates and times for all scheduled exams. Students should arrive on time, be well-rested, and come prepared with any necessary materials.

BASEBALL IN EDUCATION DAY

Our 5th and 6th grade students had a fantastic time enjoying a beautiful day at the ballpark yesterday as they watched the Binghamton Rumble Ponies in action!

The trip provided students with an exciting opportunity to experience America's pastime while enjoying time with classmates outside of the classroom. From cheering on the players to taking in the sights and sounds of the game, it was a memorable day for everyone involved.

A special thank you to the Binghamton Rumble Ponies for sponsoring their annual Baseball in Education Day and for providing our students with such a fun and educational experience.

We appreciate the opportunity and are grateful for a wonderful day at the ballpark!

JOINT DEPOSIT-HANCOCK BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETING

The Deposit and Hancock Boards of Education will hold a joint Board of Education meeting on Tuesday, June 9, at 6:00 p.m. in the HCS Middle-High School Auditorium.

We look forward to reviewing the results of the final merger study, which will be presented to the Deposit and Hancock Boards of Education by Cosimo Tangorra Jr. and Scott Bischoping of Leadership Solutions Advisers (LSA). BT-BOCES Superintendent Rebecca Stone and DCMO BOCES Superintendent Michael Rullo will also present information regarding school district reorganization. Additionally, David Elliott from the New York State Education Department will be in attendance.
