Turkeys were hiding out in 3rd grade this week!
Students disguised their turkeys and had to some math work on their feathers. Students had to work with facts of 6,7,8 & 9. They were asked to make equal groups, write equations, repeated addition, commutative property, draw arrays, and do some skip counting.
Great work, students!!

Hancock Central School is excited to welcome back Sander, a seven-year-old yellow Labrador Retriever, as our beloved furry staff member! Certified through Paws for Friendship and trained with Guiding Eyes for the Blind, Sander is here to bring comfort, support, and smiles to our students and staff.
Already enjoying stories from his Kindergarten friends, Sander is helping foster confidence, social-emotional well-being, and a positive school culture. We’re thrilled to have him as part of the HCS family!

HOME & CAREERS SPOTLIGHT
Mrs. Keller’s Home and Careers students have been busy in the kitchen! Recently, her 7th graders were invited to enjoy the meals they prepared during their lunch periods.
One menu featured a delicious spread of steak with mushrooms, green beans, and rice. Meanwhile, the other 7th grade class completed their own menu with a tasty lineup of salsa, tacos, and tres leches cake!
This experience is part of their Dinner Party Project, where students design their own menu while learning about professional kitchen setup and table service. Great job, everyone, your hard work and culinary creativity are truly impressive!

As part of our PBIS initiative in the elementary school, we’ve introduced a new bulletin board to highlight students who are “caught being good.” Every day, great things happen at our school, and this display allows us to celebrate those moments. Students can earn a fish to add to the board when they go above and beyond everyday expectations.
Maja Noble was caught being good! She noticed a classmate without a partner and kindly offered to team up with him!
Great work, Maja!

As a part of our PBIS initiative in the elementary school, there is now a bulletin board that can visually recognize students that are 'caught being good.' Positive things happen at our school each day and students will have the opportunity earn a fish when they are caught doing something above and beyond basic expectations.
Our first 'catch' was Dawson Dufton from 4th grade, who helped a friend clean up a mess in the cafeteria without being asked. Great job, Dawson!
Who will be the next one caught? 🎣
