Our 2nd graders in Ms. Milk's class wrapped up the school year by becoming published authors!
Throughout the month of June, students worked hard writing, editing, and illustrating their own personal narrative books about meaningful experiences and special memories. After completing their stories, each student had the opportunity to share their finished book with the class.
We are so proud of the creativity, effort, and growth our young authors demonstrated throughout this project. Great job, 2nd graders!

REAL FOOD RULES!
Our HCS students in grades 3-6 recently participated in an exciting and educational project through STEAM Fund's Full STEAM Ahead Healthy Habits initiative!
Working alongside teaching artists Beth and Scott Bierko, students explored the differences between real food and processed food, discussed healthy habits and nutrition, and even became songwriters themselves. Through collaboration, creativity, and meaningful conversations, students wrote and recorded their own energetic version of "Real Food Rules."
The project, completed in partnership with A Single Bite, gave students the opportunity to use their voices to promote healthy choices while building confidence through music and performance. The result is a fun and inspiring video that celebrates student creativity and encourages lifelong healthy habits. The video can be viewed at the address below!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UfU7SN7TqjU
We would like to thank Beth and Scott Bierko, STEAM Fund, A Single Bite, and all of our administrators, teachers, and staff who helped make this experience possible. We are incredibly proud of our students for their hard work, enthusiasm, and outstanding performance!
This program was made possible through a generous grant from the George A. and Margaret Mee Charitable Foundation.
Great job, Wildcats!

We look forward to celebrating our graduates and wish the Class of 2026 all the best as they begin the next chapter of their journey. Congratulations, graduates!!

Mrs. Cooper's 3rd grade students recently completed their "Balobby Villages" area project! As part of their study of area, students reviewed area concepts, learned about creating a bird's-eye view, and followed specific directions while using their creativity and imagination to design their own unique villages.
After completing their projects, students presented their villages to the class and explained their designs, demonstrating both their understanding of area and their communication skills.
Great job to all of our 3rd graders for their hard work, creativity, and thoughtful presentations!

What a wonderful way to celebrate the final day of school for our elementary students! Today, we recognized the hard work, achievements, and growth of our students during our Elementary Awards Ceremony and celebrated our 4th graders as they prepare to move up to the Middle-High School next year.
Our 4th grade students did an excellent job performing with their recorders and shared a beautiful slideshow that highlighted many special memories from their elementary years. It was a great opportunity to reflect on how much they have grown and accomplished during their time at HCS.
Congratulations to all of our award recipients and best wishes to our 4th graders as they begin the next chapter of their educational journey. Thank you to our students, families, and staff for making today’s celebration so special.
We hope everyone has a safe, relaxing, and enjoyable summer!

We are so proud of all of your hard work and achievements this year. Congratulations, graduates! We hope you have a fantastic summer, and we look forward to seeing you return as first graders next year!
SENIOR TRIP
Our seniors are on their way back home from their Senior Trip! From enjoying all the activities aboard the ship to exploring the beautiful Canadian cities of Saint John and Halifax, there has been no shortage of adventure!
Students hiked to see the famous Reversing Falls in Saint John, explored local shops, and experienced the unique culture of the area. In Halifax, they had the opportunity to visit historic sites, tour museums, enjoy the waterfront, and take in all the sights the city has to offer.
We are especially proud of our seniors, who have received numerous compliments from ship staff and fellow travelers for their kindness, enthusiasm, and outstanding behavior throughout the trip. They have represented Hancock Central School with pride, and we look forward to hearing even more about their adventures when they return home. Next stop, graduation!!

The annual First to Say Thank You event was held on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at Windsor High School.
The First to Say Thank You event recognizes graduating seniors who have chosen to serve our country through enlistment in the United States Armed Forces. The event serves as an opportunity for schools, families, and communities to celebrate these young men and women and acknowledge both their commitment to service and the educators who helped shape their path.

Earlier this week, we proudly celebrated Class Day as we recognized the accomplishments of students across our high school.

We celebrated the Hancock Central School Class of 2026, recognizing our seniors with scholarships, awards, and special honors as they prepare to graduate. Their commitment, leadership, and perseverance have left a lasting impact on our school community, and we couldn't be prouder of all they have accomplished.
We also honored and gave recognition to Audrey Price and Loa Noyd, as they will be retiring from HCS this year. We are thankful for the many years of service to our school and community that the two of you have provided. We hope you have a happy and healthy retirement!

Yesterday, we celebrated the accomplishments of our 8th grade students during their 8th Grade Graduation Ceremony. Throughout the ceremony, students were recognized with awards that highlighted their hard work, dedication, and achievements during their middle school years.
We are incredibly proud of everything this class has accomplished and can't wait to see all they achieve as they begin the next chapter of their educational journey.
Congratulations to all of our 8th graders! We hope you have a fun, safe, and relaxing summer, and we look forward to welcoming you back in the fall as the Class of 2030 and our newest freshmen!
Just a friendly reminder that Grades 5-7 Awards will take place at 10:30 a.m. today in the MS-HS Auditorium. Class day for high school students will begin at 1:20 p.m. in the auditorium as well. Guests are welcome to sign in and enter through the 2nd floor main entrance!

Thank you to Joseph Mednikoff and Case Taylor from the GoGreen BMX Big Airshow for visiting HCS today!
Students had an exciting experience as the team shared an inspiring message about following your dreams and working hard to achieve your goals. The visit also featured some incredible BMX demonstrations, including high-flying tricks on the ramp. Case impressed students by performing a variety of aerial stunts, even safely jumping his bike over several HCS staff members!
We appreciate you taking the time to stop by and bring such an energetic and motivational experience to our students!
