A TURTLEY TERRIFIC FIRST DAY IN 4TH GRADE!
A big thank you to Mrs. Prescott for sharing this great picture of her 4th graders on the first day of school yesterday! Our 4th grade Wildcats had a Turtley Terrific first day, and we’re excited for all the fun and learning ahead this year!

WELCOME BACK!
Hancock Central School was full of energy and excitement today as we welcomed students back for the first day of the 2025-2026 school year! From our youngest learners to our seniors, we saw plenty of smiling faces and eager students ready to start a brand-new year of learning, discovery, and growth.
The first day is always special, and today was no exception. We are proud of the positive spirit our students bring with them and grateful for the support of families, staff, and the community as we begin this journey together.
Here’s to a school year filled with success, new opportunities, and Wildcat pride!

GOLF PICKS UP VICTORY LAST NIGHT
Congratulations to our D-H Eagles golf team, as they picked up a strong team victory yesterday, defeating UV-GMU by a score of 221–265!
Wyatt Persbacker led the way with an impressive two-over 37, highlighted by 1 birdie and 4 pars. Kaden Conklin followed with a solid 42, including 1 birdie. Holden Dufton (1 par, 1 birdie) and Grady Tiffany each carded 46. Ethan Dennis contributed 2 pars, while Cooper Wormuth added 1 par to round out the team effort.
We also included pictures of the team’s match against Oxford last week at French Woods. It was a beautiful day to be on the course and we had a visitor watching the team at the start, see the pictures below!
Great work, Eagles!
Golf is back in action tonight at French Woods at 3:45 p.m. as they take on B-G. Good luck, team!

BACK TO SCHOOL COUNTDOWN: 3 DAYS TO GO!
The first day of school is almost here,just 3 days away! As you prepare for the 2025-2026 school year, here’s an important reminder for families:
All Hancock Central School District students are eligible to receive one breakfast and one lunch at no cost every regular school day this year. This opportunity is made possible through the USDA Food and Nutrition Service’s National School Lunch and Breakfast programs.
Please note:
Additional meals and a la carte items (milk, snacks, etc.) must be purchased on site or through MySchoolBucks.com.
No fees or forms are required to receive the no-cost meals.
Families are encouraged to complete and return a Community Eligibility Provision Household Income application, which helps determine additional funding that benefits HCSD students.

It's the final stretch of summer vacation, and the first day of class is almost here! Let's start a countdown of memories, tips, and shout-outs to commemorate the upcoming school year.
Day 7: Time to start getting back into a routine! Encourage your kids to start going to bed a little earlier each night to ease into the early mornings.

Student schedules are now live and can be viewed through SchoolTool. Families may access School Tool by visiting our district website at https://www.hancock.stier.org , or directly through the School Tool portal at https://scric04.schooltool.com/Hancock/
We encourage families to review schedules prior to the start of school. If you have any questions or concerns about your child’s schedule, please contact the guidance office.

REGENTS BUS TIMES
Please see below for busing information if you have a student taking Summer Regents exams. The buses will leave from the front entrance of the MS-HS to the DCMO BOCES Harrold Campus.
Tuesday, August 19th:
AM SESSION: 7:40 a.m. Bus for ELA and Algebra 1
PM SESSION: 11:40 a.m. bus for Global (History 10) and Algebra 2
Wednesday, August 20th:
AM SESSION: 7:40 a.m. Bus for US History, Earth Science, and Chemistry
PM SESSION: 11:40 a.m. Bus for Geometry and Living Environment
Buses will return when all students are done with their tests for that AM or PM session. Students taking same day AM and PM tests will ride to BOCES on the AM bus and return after the PM tests are complete.

Applications are now open for the After School Program
Program Hours:
• Mon–Thurs: 2:45 PM – 5:00 PM
• Fridays: 1:45 PM – 4:30 PM
Program Includes:
• Healthy snacks
• Daily dinner
• Fun activities (sports, art, robotics, drones, cooking)
• Academic support and tutoring
• Friday trips and themed “Fun Days”
• Free transportation provided

Weekend Backpack Program
We’re excited to bring back the Weekend Backpack Program for the 2025–2026 school year. Twice a month, students will receive a bag with breakfast and lunch items to take home on Fridays.
Details:
• All food is non-perishable and easy to carry.
• Bags are delivered to classrooms by students in the after-school program.
