SUNY BROOME VISITS HCS TO PROMOTE COLLEGE EXPRESS PROGRAM
Yesterday, representatives from SUNY Broome Community College visited Hancock Central School to introduce the College Express program to our 12th-grade students. This initiative offers all HCS seniors an opportunity to pursue higher education at SUNY Broome in the upcoming academic year.
The College Express program is designed to streamline the college application process for high school seniors. Through this partnership, students can apply and receive instant acceptance to SUNY Broome, eliminating common barriers to college enrollment. In addition to immediate admission, students gain access to various support services, including academic advising, financial literacy workshops, and assistance with course registration.
By participating in College Express, HCS seniors can embark on their college journey with confidence, knowing they have a place at SUNY Broome awaiting them. This collaboration underscores the commitment of both Hancock Central School and SUNY Broome to provide accessible and supportive pathways to higher education for our students.

FALL FUN IN UPK & KINDERGARTEN!
Our UPK and Kindergarten students enjoyed the seasonal story The Leaf Thief by Alice Hemming and Nicola Slater today!
After reading, the classes discussed what happens to the leaves in the fall, then got creative with some hands-on activities. The students made edible fall trees and created story sequence crowns.
What a fun and colorful way to learn about the changing seasons!
Great work, Wildcats!

D-H GOLFERS QUALIFY FOR SECTIONALS!
Although our Deposit-Hancock Golf team narrowly fell to Greene in their final regular season match last night by just 6 strokes, their strong play throughout the season earned them enough victories to qualify for Sectionals as a team this spring!
Ethan Dennis led the way for D-H with a 43 last night, including three pars, while Wyatt Persbacker followed closely with a 44.
A special congratulations also goes to Wyatt Persbacker, whose scores across the season were low enough to qualify him as a Section IV medalist entry this spring!
Next up, the golfers will compete in the MAC Championship this Tuesday, October 7th, at 9:00 a.m. in Marathon.
Best of luck to our Eagles!
