POSITIVE AFFIRMATIONS AT MORNING PROGRAM

We enjoyed a wonderful Morning Program earlier today focused on kindness, self-care, and starting the new year with positive intentions! Mrs. Feeney led a thoughtful presentation on being kind to ourselves and the power of positive affirmations. Students discussed what affirmations are, how they help us, and why practicing them matters.

Mrs. Feeney challenged our students in 2026 to try saying affirmations to themselves every day, reminding them that the more we practice, the stronger our positive thoughts become.

Following the presentation, we proudly announced our Triple B Award winners. Congratulations to Sierra Gorshack, Asher Barnhart, Kallen Robinson, Karissa Mack, Ezra Berlingeri and Dawson Dufton on their Triple B awards!

Thank you to everyone who joined us this morning, we appreciate your continued support.
Our next Morning Program will be held on January 22nd. We hope to see you there!

BOCES ROAD SHOW

Thank you to DCMO BOCES for visiting today and presenting their BOCES Roadshow to our students! Our 8th and 10th graders gained valuable insight into the wide range of programs and opportunities available through DCMO BOCES, as well as the possibilities of attending BOCES in 9th and 11th grades.

A special thank you to Jessica Soulier and Barry Beale for leading the presentation on behalf of DCMO BOCES. Jessica, a proud HCS alum, shared her experience as an Integrated ELA & CTE teacher for DCMO BOCES, while Barry provided helpful information and guidance in his role as DCMO BOCES Career Counselor. Their knowledge and personal perspectives made the presentation especially meaningful for our students.

We appreciate you taking the time to share this valuable information with our students and helping them explore future pathways!

4TH GRADE NATIVE AMERICAN STUDIES

During the month of November, our 4th graders learned about Native Americans who lived in what is now New York State. Along with classroom learning, students chose to complete a project at home with their families focused on the Iroquois.

Students explored topics such as Iroquois longhouses, clothing, games, toys, and masks. Many created detailed models and displays, then proudly brought their projects to school to present to their classmates.

They did an amazing job! Thank you to our families and staff for helping bring this learning to life.
