Hancock Central School warmly invites all Senior Citizens, Hancock Rotary, Veteran's, and Retirees of the Hancock Central School District to join us for our Community Luncheon on Thursday, December 18, from 1:00–2:00 p.m. in the MS-HS Cafeteria.
Our luncheon menu will include:

• Maple Roasted Brussel Sprouts
• Garlic Breadstick
• Apple Slices

Mrs. Keller’s HCS Foods classes have been busy in the kitchen!
Students in Basic Foods baked delicious madeleines using a special pan. These light, delicate cookies were flavored with orange and dipped in rich bittersweet chocolate. What a fun and tasty hands-on experience!
Meanwhile, students in Healthy Foods created a nutritious dessert featuring angel food cake. This classic treat is made from just egg whites, flour, and a bit of sugar (no butter), making it a lighter option that still tastes great.
Great job to all of Mrs. Keller’s young chefs!

SPREADING CHRISTMAS CHEER!
Our 4th graders kicked off December by spreading some holiday spirit! Each student chose a positive word or phrase for every classmate and wrote it on an ornament. After coloring their ornaments, they glued them onto their trees.
Now, each 4th grader has a Christmas tree filled with uplifting words like intelligent, friendly, brave, giving, and helpful. A wonderful way to show appreciation and kindness to one another!

GIRLS BOWLING PLACES 3RD!
Congratulations to our Girls Bowling Team on placing third in the annual Tip-Off Tournament in Bainbridge this past weekend! We are so proud of their hard work and teamwork.
A special shout-out to Cherish Wright, who bowled the high game of the day with an impressive 202!
Congratulations as well to Cooper Wormuth, who earned 2nd high scratch series for the boys with a score of 582. And a big shout-out to John D’Elia, who bowled a 200 in his very first match/tournament appearance, an outstanding debut!

GINGERBREAD MAN ON THE LOOSE IN UPK & KINDERGARTEN!
Our UPK and Kindergarten students had an exciting end to their week-long gingerbread unit! After reading How to Catch a Gingerbread Man, students created their own gingerbread men, only to discover that one had escaped when Mrs. Feeney opened the oven!
The classes searched high and low, following the clues the Gingerbread Man left behind to track him down. It was a fun, hands-on adventure that brought the story to life and wrapped up a wonderful week of learning!

GIRLS BASKETBALL WIN OPENER
Congratulations to our JV and Varsity girls basketball teams on each picking up a win Wednesday night in the Walton-Downsville tip-off tournament! Both squads earned wins over Franklin, with JV winning 31-21 and Varsity winning by a score of 29-14.
Autumn Dohanic led D-H with 10 points, with Olivia Esolen adding 8 points and Emma Tice collecting 5 points. Gwyneth Nebzydoski, Kadyn Appley and Olivia Johnston each added baskets for the team as well.
The girls are back in action tonight, as both are in the tip-off championship! Varsity girls will take on Walton-Downsville, while JV girls will take on Sullivan West. Both games start at 7:00 p.m. in Walton.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Morning Program earlier today! Our students were excited to be back together and kicked off the day with great energy.
Mrs. Feeney spoke with students about respect, discussing different ways we can show respect to others at school and beyond. She also shared several real-life scenarios and asked students to decide whether each one demonstrated respectful behavior, sparking some thoughtful participation!
We also celebrated our Triple B Award winners. The Triple B Award recognizes students who show what it means to Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Safe, core values of our school community. Congratulations to today’s honorees: Kira Kilian, Emalinne Davis, Noah Drake, Annalise Ross, Natalie Shannon, and Luka Brkaric!
Our next Morning Program will take place on Thursday, December 18th. We look forward to seeing everyone there!
