EMPATHY AND KINDNESS
During today’s Morning Program, Mrs. Feeney spoke with our elementary students about the importance of empathy and kindness.
She explained what empathy means, offering several examples to help students understand how we can recognize and relate to others' feelings. She also talked about kindness, giving examples of actions that show care and compassion.
Students learned that empathy is about feeling with someone, while kindness is about taking action to help. Mrs. Feeney presented different scenarios and asked students to decide whether they were examples of empathy or kindness. Students then shared their own ideas about how they can show empathy and kindness to others.
Great job and participation, everyone!

LEARNING LOCAL GOVERNMENT IN ACTION!
Today, our 11th and 12th grade students had the unique opportunity to meet with several Town of Hancock officials to learn more about how local government works and what it takes to keep a town running smoothly.
As a lead-in to this experience, HCS senior Ashton Aceves-Amaya filmed the April Town of Hancock Board Meeting, giving our students a firsthand look at town operations. As a follow-up, town officials Tim Newman, Jerry Vernold, and Cindy Whiting visited our school to discuss the many responsibilities and roles they fulfill in service to our community.
To wrap things up, students enjoyed a fun round of government trivia—putting their new knowledge to the test!
A big THANK YOU to Mr. Ogozalek for organizing this incredible learning opportunity for our future leaders!
