WINTER WEATHER INFORMATION Winter weather in our area can be unpredictable, and the safety of Hancock Central School District students is always our top priority. Decisions to delay, close, or dismiss school early are made by the Superintendent in consultation with transportation officials and local authorities, considering road conditions, weather reports, and building safety. In general, the following timeline is used to frame school closing and delay decisions: 5:30 a.m. • Preliminary decision is made to close or delay school • Media outlets are notified of closing/delay • Decision to close/delay is communicated to all district stakeholders Communication will be made via: • Global Connect Call (607-637-2511) • SMS Text Messaging • Website: https://www.hancock.stier.org • Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/HancockCSD/ • Twitter: https://twitter.com/HCSDWildcats If school starts but weather worsens, updates on early dismissals or activity cancellations will be shared as soon as possible. For any questions, please contact Superintendent Lori Asquith at 607-637-1301 or lasquith@hancock.stier.org.
