🎶 Thank You, 5th Grade Chorus! 🎶 This morning, our 5th-grade chorus students filled the room with joy and music as they performed at our elementary Morning Program. They sang selections from their winter concert, including "We Will Not" and "Hot Chocolate," much to the delight of our younger students. Thank you, 5th-grade chorus, for sharing your talent and spreading the holiday spirit! 🌟👏

STUDENT OF THE WEEK We would like to congratulate our student of the week at Hancock Elementary, Adrian Bolster! Adrian was selected by Mrs. Prescott because he puts in his best effort to be a hard worker in class. He is always very kind and helpful to his peers, as well. Excellent job, Adrian! #WeAreHCS

🎄❤️ Spreading Holiday Cheer! ❤️🎄 Our Hancock Central School students are bringing the holiday spirit to life by helping deliver Christmas gifts to our local Catholic church! Their efforts are making a difference and brightening the season for families in our community. Way to go, Wildcats!

FUN FRIDAY Our UPK and Kindergarten students got together for Fun Friday this past week! Their theme was reindeer, so the students made reindeer food for their snack. They also made reindeer food to put out on Christmas Eve for Santa’s reindeer! Excellent work, boys and girls!

D-H SPORTS LIVE STREAMS Deposit-Hancock is moving to a new live stream platform for our home athletic contests! We will be using HUDL FAN TV from this point forward (this is a free service, no account is required to view contests). Our home athletic contests will NO LONGER be live streamed on the YouTube platform. A WONDERFUL ELEMENTARY CONCERT We would like to give a big shout-out to our amazing UPK-4th graders for their fantastic performance at the elementary holiday concert this past Thursday! They delighted the packed house with songs like “I Like Thanksgiving” and “Listen to the Jingles” by Teresa Jennings, as well as “The Big Chill” by Sally K. Albrecht and Jay Althouse. Everyone did a phenomenal job—what an incredible way to celebrate the season!

5TH Graders Think Big at Engineering Day! Thank you to Mrs. Rice for sending in pictures of our 5th graders at Engineering Day last week! Like our 8th grade group the day before, the 5th graders traveled to the BT-BOCES campus, where they participated in a rube Goldberg/group engineering challenge! It looks like you were all working hard and having a good time, excellent work!

🎭📚 First-Grade Readers’ Theater 📖✨ Today, Mrs. Vasconi-Smith's first-grade class hosted a Readers’ Theater for their fellow elementary students! Readers' Theater is a fun and interactive way to bring stories to life. Students were split into two groups: ‘The Little Red Hen’ and ‘The Three Billy Goats Gruff’, where they read aloud from scripts, using expressive voices and gestures to engage their audience—no props or costumes needed! Our first graders did an amazing job reading stories to their peers, spreading joy and fostering a love for reading. Both readers and listeners had a fantastic time! Great job, first graders—you’re inspiring the next generation of storytellers!

PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES MONDAY Just a friendly reminder that HCS will be holding parent-teacher conferences this Monday, November 25th, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. and 5:00-7:00 p.m. Students will be dismissed from school at 12:30 p.m. These conferences are a valuable opportunity to connect, discuss progress, and plan for continued growth and success. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s school if you would like to arrange a meeting with their teacher.

Come out on Saturday, November 23rd, as our talented high school students bring to life the classic comedy "You Can't Take It With You" by George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart! This hilarious play follows the eccentric Sycamore family, a group that lives by its own rules and proves that life is about enjoying the little things.
