🎄✨ HOLIDAY SPIRIT WEEK ✨🎄 Throughout the week, our students and staff here at HCS truly showcased their holiday spirit! From festive outfits to joyful activities, the holiday cheer was in full swing. 🎅✨ BREAKFAST WITH SANTA✨🎅 This morning, our elementary students had a magical start to their day with Breakfast with Santa! 🎄 Santa shared hugs and conversations with students while they enjoyed their meals. Afterward, students and staff gathered for group photos with Santa, capturing the joy and excitement of the moment. The kids' eyes lit up, and their smiles said it all—this was a morning to remember! Thank you, Santa, for bringing holiday cheer to HCS! ❤️🎁

🎄✨ Creative and Delicious Holiday Fun! ✨🎄 Our talented UPK and Kindergarten students at HCS got into the holiday spirit by crafting their very own edible Christmas trees! These festive treats look as wonderful as they do tasty. Amazing work by our youngest learners, spreading holiday cheer one tree at a time!

🎄✨ ELEMENTARY CHRISTMAS CRAFTS! ✨🎄 Today, our elementary students got into the holiday spirit with fun and creative Christmas crafts! 🎨🎅 Teachers did a fantastic job organizing crafting stations, where students made ornaments, created adorable snowmen, and enjoyed coloring festive designs, among other activities. A big thank you to our dedicated teachers for making this such a memorable experience for our students! 🌟❤️

CHRISTMAS CAROLS AT MORNING PROGRAM We had a wonderful Morning Program yesterday, with our Middle School Chorus ensemble joining us to sing Christmas Carols! Our elementary students had the opportunity to join in with some wintery percussion (sleigh bells and tambourines) and singing! It was a beautiful way to celebrate the holidays here at Hancock Central. Thank you for the students that performed and Mrs. Noyd for her gorgeous piano playing! We also selected our gold slip winner, congratulations to Wyatt Drake! Way to go, Wyatt! Kinley Drake won Mr. Eddie's Christmas contest. Students had the chance to guess how many Santas are on our stage. Kinley was close with a guess of 300. There are actually 267 altogether! Thank you, Mr. Eddie for making a wonderful gift basket for the winner! Thank you to Ms. Williams, Mrs. Robinson and Mrs. Stanton for your pictures! This is our last Morning Program of 2024. We wish everyone a warm holiday break!"

STUDENT OF THE WEEK Congratulations to this week’s student of the week at Hancock elementary, Hudson Dufton! Hudson was chosen by Mrs. Vasconi-Smith because he is a kind classmate and a hard worker (with some super cool Spider-Man moves!). They also bonded over their shared love of the book "The Monster at the End of This Book" by Jon Stone. A great book choice indeed! Excellent work, Hudson!!

🎉 A Warm Treat on a Cold Day! ☕❄️ Huge thanks to our amazing food service staff at Hancock Central School for treating our students to a delightful hot cocoa spread today! The spread included: 🍫 Hot cocoa with chocolate-dipped spoons 🍬 Marshmallow and peppermint toppings 🍪 Graham crackers and cocoa dip Your hard work and creativity never go unnoticed—thank you for making the day extra special!

GINGERBREAD MEN Our UPK and Kindergarten boys and girls have been working hard all week on gingerbread activities! The students created their own gingerbread men and baked them in the oven. When Ms. Milk opened the oven to check on them, she noticed one that went missing! The students went on a gingerbread hunt and the missing gingerbread was found! The boys and girls then had the opportunity to decorate and enjoy their own gingerbread man. Excellent job, students! Your gingerbread men look fantastic!

BIRTHDAYS, AWARDS, GOLD SLIP WINNER We celebrated several birthdays at yesterday's Morning Program, as well as selecting this week’s gold slip winner! Happiest of birthdays go out to Xander Dufton, Natalia Tarbox, Onyx Morgan, Riley Young, Mr. Bedient and Mrs. Sherburne! We hope you each have a wonderful birthday! Quarter 1 awards were given out to several students that were absent last week. 🎶 Thank You, 5th Grade Chorus! 🎶 This morning, our 5th-grade chorus students filled the room with joy and music as they performed at our elementary Morning Program. They sang selections from their winter concert, including "We Will Not" and "Hot Chocolate," much to the delight of our younger students. Thank you, 5th-grade chorus, for sharing your talent and spreading the holiday spirit! 🌟👏

STUDENT OF THE WEEK We would like to congratulate our student of the week at Hancock Elementary, Adrian Bolster! Adrian was selected by Mrs. Prescott because he puts in his best effort to be a hard worker in class. He is always very kind and helpful to his peers, as well. Excellent job, Adrian! #WeAreHCS

🎄❤️ Spreading Holiday Cheer! ❤️🎄 Our Hancock Central School students are bringing the holiday spirit to life by helping deliver Christmas gifts to our local Catholic church! Their efforts are making a difference and brightening the season for families in our community. Way to go, Wildcats!

FUN FRIDAY Our UPK and Kindergarten students got together for Fun Friday this past week! Their theme was reindeer, so the students made reindeer food for their snack. They also made reindeer food to put out on Christmas Eve for Santa’s reindeer! Excellent work, boys and girls!

D-H SPORTS LIVE STREAMS Deposit-Hancock is moving to a new live stream platform for our home athletic contests! We will be using HUDL FAN TV from this point forward (this is a free service, no account is required to view contests). Our home athletic contests will NO LONGER be live streamed on the YouTube platform. We also selected two blue slip winners this week, congratulations to Lillie Walker and Cristian Sparacio on being selected! Blue slips are given out to those students who display kindness, respect and good character inside and outside of the classroom. A job well done, keep getting those slips in, boys and girls!
