BIRTHDAYS, GOLD SLIP WINNERS
At yesterdays Morning Program, we honored several birthdays and chose two gold slip winners!
Happiest of birthdays go out to Mrs. Noyd, Abigail Davis and Zayne Walker. We hope you each have a wonderful birthday!!
Our students of the week, Bentley Wignall and Kyla Blakeslee, selected the gold slip winners for the past two weeks as well. Congratulations go to Tanner Davis and Night Mason on being selected! Tanner and Night are each pictured with Mrs. Vasconi-Smith and their prizes.
Nice work, keep on turning in those gold slips, boys and girls! 😊

GOOD BEHAVIOR AT MORNING PROGRAM
During today’s Morning Program, Mrs. Feeney introduced the 3 B’s of good behavior—Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Safe—which our students know well! But here’s the exciting part: Starting in March, we’ll be recognizing students who consistently demonstrate these positive behaviors with a special monthly award! 🏆
Teachers will select one student per grade each month to receive a ‘Triple B’ Award. Those students chosen will receive a fun prize, like a shout-out on the announcements, a no-homework pass, a redo certificate, or a brain break choice! 🎉 Students will have the opportunity to choose from a list tailored to their classroom.
We’re looking forward to celebrating our Wildcats who set a great example every day! Thank you to all of you that showed up to today’s program!

Pennies from Heaven Fundraiser!
Hancock Central School is excited to participate in UHS Delaware Valley Hospital’s Pennies from Heaven fundraiser throughout February!
Students in UPK through 6th grade will bring home flyers with details on how to collect spare pennies from family, friends, and community members. From February 1st to February 28th, each classroom will have a collection jug for daily donations.
At the end of the month, UHS will tally the totals, and the classroom that raises the most will win a pizza party 🎉🍕—courtesy of Delaware Valley Hospital!
All proceeds support the DVH fund, so let’s come together and make a difference!

Celebrating the Lunar New Year at HCS!
Mrs. Rice and Mrs. Dufton's 5th and 6th graders embraced the spirit of tomorrow’s Lunar New Year in school today with engaging activities!
The students cooked and enjoyed Tteokguk, a traditional Korean rice cake soup, played yut nori, a lively traditional Korean game and created bokjumoni, which are colorful pouches symbolizing good fortune and luck for the year ahead.
This hands-on celebration brought cultural traditions to life, fostering learning and fun!

Welcome to Hancock Central School, Mrs. Feeney! 🌟
We’re delighted to introduce Amanda Feeney, our new School Counselor, who joined HCS in early December. Mrs. Feeney is stationed in the elementary school (Room 112) but is here to support all students, PK-12.
A recent graduate of St. Bonaventure’s School Counseling master’s program, Mrs. Feeney brings a wealth of experience, including over 800 internship hours at Sullivan West Elementary and MS/HS, and many years working at the Center for Discovery. She currently resides in Roscoe with her husband, 5-month-old, and two cockapoos.
Mrs. Feeney is excited to collaborate with staff and students, working with PBIS tiers to provide meaningful support both in her office and within classrooms. We’re thrilled to have her on board and look forward to the positive impact she will make in our school community.
Welcome to the Wildcat family, Mrs. Feeney! 🎉

🎉 Fun Friday at Hancock Central School! 🎉
Today, our UPK and Kindergarten students had an exciting Fun Friday experience with a special guest! Marley from WSKG stopped by to visit our little learners, and what a fantastic time it was! She introduced the students to the world of PBS Kids and shared wonderful resources for parents to access at home. 💻
Marley, with her warm and friendly energy, even watched an episode of Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood with the students. They had a blast as they learned valuable lessons from Daniel and his friends!
After the show, the students got creative by coloring their favorite Daniel Tiger characters and making colorful hats to wear. 🎨
A big thank you to Marley and WSKG for making this day so special for our students! We can't wait for more fun learning adventures in the future! 💖
