PRE-KINDERGARTEN GRADUATION
We held our Pre-Kindergarten graduation earlier this morning in the Elementary school cafeteria!
The students did a great job on stage singing us songs and working on their rhymes. It has been wonderful to watch you all grow throughout this year, your first full school year!
It was an excellent turnout for our boys and girls, thank you for attending.

PRE-K/KINDERGARTEN TRIP TO LITTLE ITALY
Our Pre-K and Kindergarten students took a field trip to Little Italy III in Deposit to see how pizza is made!
The boys and girls were able to create their own pizza with pizza stickers, then they got to eat some of their own yummy pizza. Nice job, kiddos!

5TH & 6TH GRADERS HEAD TO FRENCH WOODS CAMP
Our 5th and 6th grade students recently took a trip to French Woods Festival of the Performing Arts camp for a fun-filled day!
Students received a tour of the camp and the different areas/activities available for them to access. Activities available included the circus, ropes course/zipline, horseback riding, magic, sports and arts/crafts.

Congratulations to the student of the week at Hancock Elementary, Hudson Dufton!
Hudson was chosen by Mrs. Karcher because he is an excellent student in class, friendly to others, always follows directions and is a big helper to his peers.

SCHOLARS OF THE MONTH
At morning program, we selected our elementary Scholars of the Month for April and May. Congratulations to the scholar of the month for April, Luka Brkaric! Luka was chosen because he always works hard, tries his best and follows directions. He is also very kind to his peers. Nice work, Luka!
Congratulations to the scholar of the month for May, Kylie Tompkins! Kylie was also chosen because she is a hard worker and tries her best. She also is a great friend to her classmates. Excellent work, Kylie!
Each student will receive a gift of $100 (in trust). We want to thank The Hancock Community Education Foundation and Camp Hilltop for sponsoring the scholars of the month at HCS!

SENIOR TRIP
Our 12th graders were ready to head out bright and early this morning for their senior trip! The students are off to Maryland, visiting Baltimore first and finishing up in Ocean City.
We caught some pictures of them arriving in Baltimore, then having some lunch at the Hard Rock Café. We hope you all have an excellent trip, we will see you soon!

BIRTHDAYS, GOLD SLIP WINNERS AT MORNING PROGRAM
We gathered today for our final Morning Program of the 2023-2024 school year! At morning program, we celebrated June/Summer birthdays and picked a plethora of gold slip prize winners.
Happy birthday to you all and congratulations to those students who were selected for gold slips!
While we won’t have program next week, we will have our elementary awards ceremony next Wednesday, June 26th, at 8:30 am in the elementary cafeteria. We hope to see you then!

ELEMENTARY FIELD DAYS
It was a great day to be outside for elementary field days! While a bit hot, the sun was shining and our students had a great time on the playground. Our boys and girls played a variety of games, including relay races, water balloon toss, pass the sponge, and flamingo ring toss!

We held our end of the year honors dessert last week at HCS to recognize and congratulate those students on the merit, honor, and high honor rolls for the 2023-2024 school year (cumulative through quarter 3).

STUDENTS OF THE WEEK, BIRTHDAYS, GOLD SLIP WINNERS
We were busy at Morning Program this week, as we celebrated our students of the week, birthdays, and gold slip winners!
Our first student of the week was chosen by Mrs. Smith, congratulations to Paislee Conkling! Paislee was chosen because she is a good listener in class and a great helper to her friends. Nice work, Paislee!
Sam Brigham was chosen as student of the week for Mrs. Prescott, nice work Sam! Sam was chosen because of his kindness and willingness to learn every day. He is also a great friend to his peers!
We also celebrated several birthdays at Tuesday’s program. Happy birthdays go out to Adrian Bolster, Emma Frost, Christian Sparacio, Kendra Croci and Hope Felter. We hope each of you had the best birthday!
Finally, our students of the week helped choose two gold slip winners for the week. The gold slip winners were Kallen Angel and Zayne Walker! Kallen and Zayne are pictured with their prize.

ELEMENTARY WINNERS FOR JUSTIN’S PATRIOTIC PROJECT
We want to thank Cindy and Randy Whiting for stopping back to Morning Program this past Tuesday. Cindy and Randy were on hand to present the elementary award winners for Justin’s Patriotic Project, in memory of SSG Justin Whiting, US Army.
We want to recognize Sara Saul as the winner of the 2nd grade poster contest. Grayson Speer was chosen as the 3rd grade essay winner, with Dominic Rajoppi being selected as the 4th grade essay winner.
Excellent work, boys and girls! To everyone that took the time to complete a poster or essay, we want to thank you for your hard work also!

ELEMENTARY FIELD DAYS THIS MONDAY
Elementary field days will take place this Monday, June 17th. Field days will begin at 9:00 a.m. on the grass by the playground for non-water activities. Pre-Kindergarten students will eat lunch at 10:30 a.m., with kindergarten through 4th grade students having lunch at 11:30 a.m.
If weather keeps us inside, field days will take place in the elementary gymnasium and there will not be water activities in the afternoon. Our tables and chairs are set up for the end of year, graduation moving up ceremony, so you may want to bring a lawn chair to sit in during field days and the picnic lunch.

SENIOR WALK PICS
The HCS Class of 2024 received their caps/gowns and walked the halls of the Elementary & Middle-High Schools yesterday morning!
They were greeted with cheers and ovations from students and staff members from both buildings. We caught some pictures of them on their walk, one step closer to graduation!!

MOVIE & PARK FUN
Our Middle School students took a trip to AMC theaters to watch the movie IF on Friday! After the movie, they stopped by Otsiningo Park to enjoy the beautiful day!

PRE-K & K CELEBRATE NATIONAL DONUT DAY
This past Friday was National Donut Day and our Pre-K/Kindergarten students wanted to celebrate!
Mrs. Hull and Mrs. Karcher’s classes read “Arnie The Doughnut” by Laurie Keller.
Afterwards, they each got the opportunity to decorate and eat their own donut.
Nice work, boys and girls. Those donuts look yummy!!

PRE-K CELEBRATE WITH PIZZA
Our Pre-Kindergarten students were the winners of the ‘Golden Trash Can’ award in the Elementary School this year! This award goes to the classroom kept in the best shape each day throughout the entire school year.
Mr. Mitchell brought our Kindergarten boys and girls some pizza for their efforts, nice work students!!

SOFTBALL HEADS TO LONG ISLAND
Our D-H Lady Eagles Softball team was given a sending off by students and staff at HCS as they departed to Long Island for the NYSPHSAA Softball championships earlier today!
The team took a trip through the elementary school to visit our younger students, then made their way down through the Middle-High School. The girls are on their way down to Martha Avenue Recreational Park in Bellport, preparing for their NYS semifinal game against Friendship-Scio of Section five.
Deposit-Hancock (Section IV) vs Friendship-Scio (Section V) will be at 12:00 p.m., Friday, June 6th. A live stream will be available through the NFHS network ( https://www.nfhsnetwork.com ), which requires a subscription.

NYS SOFTBALL SEMIFINAL/FINAL INFO
Our D-H Eagles Softball team are on their way back to the NYSPHSAA Softball Championships this weekend!
Games will take place at Martha Avenue Recreational Park in Bellport, NY, with semifinals on Friday, June 7th, and finals on Saturday, June 8th. Deposit-Hancock will play at 12:00 p.m. on Friday against Friendship-Scio (Section V), the same team they went 13 innings against in last years Championship final victory.
The winner will take on the winner of Salen (Section II) vs Chateaugay (Section X) at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
