Congratulations to our D-H Eagles baseball team on winning the Section IV Class D Championship!
The boys brought home their 3rd straight Sectional title with a 10-0 victory (5 innings) over Elmira Notre Dame yesterday in Windsor. Good pitching, solid defense and a big 6-run third inning were key to the boys victory.
Lucas Barnes and Zech Begeal each went 2 for 4 in the game, with Barnes scoring twice and Begeal collecting 2 rbi. Blake Fortunato and Kaden Rynearson each knocked in a pair of rbi with base-hits, while Thomas Reis (1 for 2, 1 rbi) and Evan Persbacker (1 rbi) also contributed at the plate. Blake Fortunato pitched for Deposit-Hancock, striking out 6 and giving up only 2 hits in the shutout.
The boys are set for Regional play on Saturday, June 1st, taking on the Section 3 winner at 1:00 pm in Windsor. Keep it going, guys!!
