Sixth-graders with We Remember signs (2020)

Gloria White’s sixth-grade Social Studies class made a statement by joining the #WeRemember online campaign for International Holocaust Remembrance Day.

Students took turns reading The Devil’s Arithmetic by Jane Yolen out loud, then discussed the Holocaust and the various camps used by Nazi Germany to imprison and kill millions of European Jews during World War II. They finished the book as a class on Monday, January 27, which was International Holocaust Remembrance Day.

Our kids then decided to join the campaign, standing together with homemade #WeRemember signs to honor those who suffered and/or died during this dark part of world history.
