Congratulations to Hancock Central School District PK-12 Principal Julie Bergman on her recent appointment as a director for the Hancock Community Education Foundation.

Secretary: Candace Tinagero, Retired, 20 years of leadership in the New York City Foster Care system.

Director: Christine DeLuca Lotto, Retired Children's Librarian/Early Childhood Teacher.

Ron DeLuca, Wellington Lester and George Elwood founded The Hancock Community Education Foundation in 1999. It has been operating as a 501 (c) (3) since February 2000 with the mission to provide educational support from birth to post-graduation and to encourage a greater percentage of students to go on to higher education.
To accomplish its mission, the HCEF provides the following educational and social programs for children and families in Hancock: The Hancock Community Children's Center; Hancock Community Preschool; Grades K-4 After School Program; Grades 5-9 After School Program; Scholar of the Month Program; Justin’s Patriotic Project; College Transition Program; The Family Learning Center; After-School Garden; Weekend Back Pack Program; Grades K-9 Summer Enrichment Program; Robert W. Nichol Nature Preserve and Science Center; and the College Scholarship Program, which has awarded $1,020,350 in college scholarships to Hancock students since 2000.
