Congratulations once again to the Hancock boys bowling team for competing at the State Championships on Friday, March 11, at Strike ’N Spare Lanes in Syracuse!
Our Section 4 tournament and Midstate Athletic Conference regular-season champions placed eighth out of nine teams at the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Division II Tournament, with 5,201 pins over six games.
Ronnie Ellis led the way with 1,158 total pins, including a 603 three-game series in the morning session that included games of 202 and 236.
Anton Leonard rolled a 204 and a 233 en route to a team-high three-game series of 618 in the morning session. He finished with 1,150 pins over six games, closing the afternoon session with a 213.
Peyton Johnson had a 205 in the morning session and tied Ellis for the single-game team high with a 236 in the finale of the afternoon session. He amassed 1,101 pins on the day.
Tyler Allen contributed 1,037 pins, hitting his high of 183 in Game 2 of the morning session.
Aidan Norton, Wyatt Persbacker, Davis Herzog and Luke Prescott shared time in the fifth spot for the Wildcats and combined for 755 pins over six games.
Maryvale of Section 6 won the Division II state title with 6,325 pins – 450 better than runner-up Peru of Section 7.
