In compliance with Governor Hochul’s decision to lift mask mandates for New York schools, face coverings are no longer mandatory at the Hancock Central School District.
Effective Wednesday, March 2, face coverings will be optional in HCSD classrooms, athletic venues, co-curricular events, buses, and all other District venues.
Students, faculty, staff, and community members may continue to wear face coverings at their discretion. The District retains the right to reinstitute face-covering restrictions if directed to do so by the Governor, the New York State Education Department, or the New York State Department of Health.
