The merged athletic programs of Deposit and Hancock have an official logo following an online vote that drew 596 responses in May.
The winning logo (pictured) – a black eagle with blue-and-white accents swooping over white “DH Eagles” lettering outlined in blue – emerged victorious in a tight contest. Presented with a solid-black background as “Option 3” of the three choices, the winning logo received 37.25 percent of the votes (222). It will be incorporated into all Deposit-Hancock athletic uniforms and accessories when the need to purchase new items arises.
Option 2 – a white eagle’s head over black “DH” and blue “Deposit-Hancock” lettering – placed second with 34.56 percent of the votes (206).
Option 1 – a black eagle swooping over black “DH” lettering on a solid-blue background – took third with 28.19 percent of the votes (168).
Local designers created the three logo options for the online vote, which was conducted by the free online survey platform SurveyMonkey.
The Deposit and Hancock school districts thank everyone who participated in the D-H logo contest and look forward to continuing a successful shared-services agreement that started in 2012 to offer more athletic opportunities to students in both districts.
