We’re Wild About Handwashing!
Students washing hands (9/2020)

Hancock Elementary School welcomed UHS Delaware Valley Hospital for “I’m Wild About Handwashing!” on Thursday morning (September 17, 2020) as students in grades Pre-Kindergarten through 4 learned the proper way to wash their hands.

Kids entered our Professional Development room by class for “hands-on” instruction that started with a preliminary scan for germs.

One-by-one, students soaped up their hands and washed them under running water to three sets of the tune “Row, Row, Row Your Boat.” The lyrics for this exercise were slightly different, though: “Wash, Wash, Wash Your Hands, Several Times a Day; Wash, Wash, Wash Your Hands to Keep the Germs Away!”

Students then rechecked their hands under the purple scanner lights and were rewarded for their proper handwashing efforts with stickers.

The Hancock Central School District remains committed to keeping kids safe and healthy as our school buildings reopen during the COVID-19 health crisis. For more information on our fight against Coronavirus and School Reopening, visit our website at www.hancock.stier.org.
