DH wrestling takes down Sidney Warriors on Senior Night
According to Hancock Athletics Director Devon Bedient, DH faced against Sidney’s wrestling team the Warriors on Tuesday the 10th.

Bedient said the night was a night of celebration as it was also Senior Night for Hancock’s lone senior, Nicholas Caiati.

“Nick, the son of Michael and Colleen Caiati went into the contest sporting a 19-4 record,” said Bedient. “The DH eagles team took down the Warriors 37-30 with a packed crowd.”

“The crowd also marked the first time that DH has wrestled in the Hancock High School gym since 1987.”

He said coincidently, as some former Hancock residents have recalled, they also came out to the same warm-up song. “Renegade”, by Styx was played over the speaker with the lone light in the gym being the spotlight located above center mat, as it had been 35 years ago.

Hancock Head Coach Dan Briggs also commented on the event and said, “The feeling was great, the crowd close and on top of you.”

The wrestling team continues their season in Camden, NY this weekend at the Blue Devil Wrestling Tournament.
