Congratulations to all of the Hancock athletes who earned Scholar-Athlete honors from the Midstate Athletic Conference and the New York State Public High School Athletic Association for the 2019 fall sports season.
The MAC recognized the following athletes for earning the highest Hancock GPAs on each of our Deposit/Hancock fall sports teams (pictured left to right): Madison Felter, field hockey; Kelsey Young, girls cross country; Roger Newman, golf; Mariah Young, volleyball; Ethan Hunt, football.
The NYSPHSAA recognized the following Hancock athletes for earning an academic average of 90 or above: Girls Cross Country – Kelsey Young; Field Hockey – Madison Felter, Taylor Gotthardt, Avery Ostrander; Football – Jacob Dobromirescu, Ethan Hunt, Tom Kravetsky, Connor O’Boyle; Golf – Ben Banks, Brenna Gleim, Chris Gross, Nick Locke, Michael Makowski, Roger Newman, Logan Westbrook, Nate Westbrook; Volleyball – Mariah Young.
Additionally, 75 percent of our D/H varsity fall sports teams finished with a combined GPA of 90 or above. Those teams are Boys/Girls Cross Country, Field Hockey, Football, Golf and Volleyball.

Athletic Awards
Hancock senior Kelsey Young and a group of Deposit/Hancock football players were honored December 16 for their athletic performances during the fall season.
Kelsey made the all-state Class D Second Team in girls cross country, as selected by the New York State Sportswriters Association.
Section 4 named the following D/H football players to its Division 5 All-Star Team, as selected by the section’s coaches: Dominic Wormuth, running back/linebacker, senior; Christian Sokol, offensive lineman/defensive end, senior; Hunter Muller, offensive lineman/defensive lineman, senior; Tyler Santamaria, OB/defensive back, junior; Wyatt Jacobs, WR/defensive back, sophomore; Logan Barnes (honorable mention); Gabe Rynearson (honorable mention).
