Hancock CSD celebrates School Board Recognition

Hancock CSD Board of Education group pic (10/2020)The Hancock Central School District would like to thank its Board of Education members for their continued commitment to our children’s education. Hancock joins the New York State School Boards Association and public schools across the state in celebrating School Board Recognition in October 2020.

The HCSD Board of Education is comprised of President Terry Whitt, Vice President Rebecca Smith, Christopher “Jake” Geer Sr., Gene Homer, Todd Jacobs and Lothar Holbert (Wayne Highlands representative). Together, they are responsible for establishing the quality of education in the District while serving as a liaison between the school and the community.

HCSD relies on its Board of Education to define the philosophy of the District by establishing operations policies and educational goals, evaluating the effectiveness of programs and services, adopting and monitoring the budget, communicating with stakeholders and legislators, and acting on Superintendent recommendations.

BOE contributions support our vision to strive for excellence as an innovative, advanced and reflective school community, as well as our Wildcat Pledge to nurture and empower each learner’s unlimited capacity to become a responsible citizen with a promising future.
